For the last three seasons Biarritz Olympique hasn't really been itself, unless it has just become a pretty ordinary sort of club...The question needs to be asked: no Top 14 semi-final for three seasons and a playing standard which has been poor at times. The return of Serge Blanco to the chairmanship of the club he holds close to his heart has not changed anything. The Reds and Whites have still not made the championship. Fortunately for them, last season, the wind of the H cup seemed to blow away the big grey cloud which had settled over Biarritz. The club looked like it was making a fresh start after its great performance in the European cup, despite being beaten by Toulouse in the final. The group which changed little over the course of the close season will however be able to count on Sylvain Marconnet, a new recruit, as well as on Lund. Optimistic ambitions for a club whose biggest dream today is to win the European Cup. And maybe also to beat its favourite Bayonne rival...
